Asian festial

We went to the Asian Festival in East Hartford. There were multiple booths displaying artwork, providing face painting, teaching Tai Chi, and even giving out free balloons that said, "Jesus loves you!" When asked if our little one might like a balloon, we waited for Jakob to grab the string, but he wasn't interested. Later Danny said, "Jakob doesn't need a balloon to tell him that Jesus loves him."
They had dragon boats racing on the Connecticut River. It was really cool because anyone could get a team together to race, like Belcan...although they did not race. And becasue the teams didn't get any prizes for racing, it turned out to be some good ol' fashioned fun.
We couldn't resist the temptation to buy food while we were there. There was some goooood smelling rice cooking up a storm, not to mention the beef for a philly cheese sandwich. Ironically, being at an Asian festival, Danny got the philly cheese and I got a foot long hotdog--mostly so Jakob could eat something familar. Plus, the line for the yummy smelling food was long and we all know how impatint kids (and adults) can be when they're hungry! We felt kind of funny eating 'american' food. Danny decided to get a mango, italian ice. I wasn't a huge fan, but it did hit the spot! A nice, cool treat on a hot, summer day. mmmmmmm....
Just as we were getting ready to leave, we passed by a martial arts group getting ready for their show. We had to stay, especially seeing the dragon head on the ground. We stayed for a half hour longer, just in time for Jakob to be completely ready for his nap.

By "completely ready for his nap" do you mean he timed out?

That must have been a lot of fun.
Jakob is growing up so fast.
