Farewell!

Danny said farewell to his old college car about a month ago.  It had been sitting in the driveway for about a year, waiting for someone to work on it and/or decide where to donate it. Unfortunately it was beyond worth while repair and ended up sitting for an entire year.  Luckily some random guy driving by offered $100 to take it off our hands.

Just last week we said farewell to Danny's motorcycle.  This is the motorcycle that Danny was planning to purchase while living his young, single days....but then he met me and decided to spend his money towards a more worthy cause.  Anyway, after graduating with his master's Danny finally got the motorcycle he'd always dreamed of; however, the ride wasn't exactly as expected.  How can you cruise the roads with your wife when you have children at home?  The commute to work was as far as the bike took him and while that was great for gas mileage during the fair weather days, the seasonal vehicle wasn't so great for gas mileage when I had to take him and pick him up from work because of rain and/or snow.   Danny bucked up and decided the motorcycle wasn't worth it.  The final decision to sell came after the news that his company is relocating- his 6 minute commute is now 20 minutes-and he needs a better weather permitting vehicle to get him to and from work.  I must admit, he's taking it all rather well.
The kids will miss wearing his helmet:

Now that the vehicles are gone, it's now time to wait patiently for Danny to find himself a car. Until then, his bicycle is all he's got.  :)
