Look, LOOK

Jakob is officially six months today. What a milestone!

Jakob can now sit without a pillow or me supporting him. A couple of days ago he use to reach for toys and then topple over, being top heavy. Now he has learned how to reach for toys without falling over.

Jakob has tried carrots, sweet potatoes, pears, prunes, and squash. He eats gracefully now- no more dribbling food out the sides of his mouth or thrusting it with his tongue. He opens his mouth nice and wide and makes noises every time he closes his lips around the spoon. It's almost like he's saying "mmmmmmmmmmmmmm." (very cute)

Jakob can roll to both sides and even to his stomach. He has a hard time rolling from his stomach to his back, but he will if he's determined enough. He no longer likes to lay on the floor; he prefers to sit. It makes it hard for me because I still feel like I have to watch him while he plays so he doesn't face-plant into the floor.

Jakob is great when it comes to the bed time routine. He has learned that he eats his evening meal, takes a bath, gets into pajamas, listens to a few books and a few songs and then it's time to sleep. It has worked like a charm! As soon as we finish the song I put him in his crib and he falls asleep. AWESOME.

Jakob now takes two naps a day. Sometimes his naps last 2 hours, sometimes 1 1/2 hours. He is pretty consistent about taking naps around the same time each day, so hopefully the nap time routine becomes more established in the next couple of weeks.

Jakob has learned so much in six months. I am very blessed to have such a great baby!
