An epidemic of boredom has swept through our house! Luckily I have some entertaining children that keep me on my toes. Literally. I'm constantly up and down with these two! I've noticed the two kiddos need more supervision and facilitation in their play in order to avoid the unwanted fighting and screaming that naturally occurs.
I admit, I probably could do more to research fun activities to keep busy and active during these long winter days, but I guess I'm okay figuring out our own fun! OR Just plain lazy....one of the two.
Besides, who needs ideas when Jakob has plenty of his own:
And since Jakob enjoyed decorating his dinos, I figured he might enjoy making his own fruity necklace:
Complimented with penne pasta:
He gobbled the cereal right up from that necklace in under 5 minutes. I was truly impressed!
We have also been improving Jakob's little house. Today it is a "Jessie house"....or possibly a "Woody's house"....or maybe a "Buzz house"? I never know anymore-it changes every five minutes.
(He is pointing to the characters in the movie to make sure I know which house to make)
And it really doesn't matter if I know which house to make, we usually end up rebuilding it every five minutes because of the pushing and shoving that goes on here. I guess we need more couch cushions.
After getting bored with the front room, it's time to move to the kitchen. When you only have two rooms to choose from throughout the day, you really need to take advantage of the "space."
We had a drama filled day in the kitchen: Thomas the train kept getting stuck under the table with no where to go! Luckily his faithful friend Percy was there to push the chairs out of his way and save the helpless train from trouble.
Oh, and Molly enjoys chasing after a ball.
I decided to improvise some of my own creative ideas on the kitchen floor:
And last, but not least, we always enjoy some good ol' fashioned fun every once in awhile. Listening to music and dancing is an all time favorite of ours. :) Not to mention a great way to exercise.
