We spent a lot of time indoors this week! Nor'easter Stella graced us with her presence at 4am Tuesday Morning and wouldn't leave until later that night. She started off as snow then by noon turned into sleet and ice and by 2pm she was rain and back to snow by dinner. Crazy! The kids stayed in most of the time and tried to keep busy. Molly and Sophia got into tatoos and body glitter and dressups, Jakob sorted his pokemon cards and watched netflix movies. Its not really fun being stuck indoors, but glad to have a day off of school and work.
The kids are always trying to find "good luck" in the cereal, for example, two mini wheats stuck together or a huge rasin bran flake! Jakob found a mini-wheat COVERED in frosting! He thougth it was the coolest thing--and of course that meant that the girls had to find one, too. We've got some pretty lucky kids!! ha ha
On Monday, before the storm, I took Molly and Flat Stanley out to visit South Glastonbury. We took Stanley to the Connecticut River and local farms then showed him our huge maple trees that produce syrup (if only we remembered to tap them this year) and then he sat out the storm with us, watching snow fall down from the window. I think the next time he visits he needs to bring winter clothes!

We had another snow day on Wednesday because the roads were icy and undrivable in the morning. I was going to take the kids to Kindercare with me, but Molly woke up sick so we ended up staying home instead. It was really cold at home so I started a fire to help the heater work efficiently. (I started a fire on Tuesday, too, and the kids spent most of the morning right next to it--they even had a picnic lunch right by the warmth) Sophia even decided that she needed to take her nap by the fire and stayed toasty warm! Man, sure love our stove!
St. Patrick's day is hugely celebrated out here for some reason so I decided to put green streaks in the kids hair for their contribution. They thought it was so cool! Sophia went to school and noticed that a naughty Leprechaun had visited her room because he left green foot prints all over, peed green in the toilet, and hung up her snuggles on the ceiling. She wasn't too happy about that, but everything else was really silly to her. We ate corned beef and mashed potatoes for dinner (lucky charms for the kids) and topped it off with lucky charm krispy treats. WIN!!

The kids decided to build blanket forts this week! I was happy to see it make a come back. Sophia started the idea and then big brother ran with it to make an epic fort with every. single. chair. that we own! ha ha. It's all fun and games until you realize there is nowhere to sit!
